Kitchen helpers

Garrett helped cut up strawberries the other evening so we could have them over angel food cake and ice cream. He did a good job. Garrett just got his hardware in from the orthodontist. He has an expander across the roof of his mouth that I get to turn with a key every night. This is the beginning of a year process to get his front tooth to come down. His little surgery is the 15th of Arpil to put a "button" on the tooth that is hiding and will have a chain coming down to help slowly pull it downward. A long road ahead but will be a worthwhile outcome.

Easter Party

We had our Battalion Easter party yesterday at a park on Pope Air force Base. It started out to be a nice day but within 1/2 hour it started to rain. Half and hour later it was sunny and beautiful. The Easter bunny came and handed out eggs to all the kids and then hunted for eggs. Too much candy!! We had pizza and a dessert contest and I made my fruit pizza. I won the "Crowd Pleaser" prize!! Yeah! It is a favorite here, in fact last year Jessica did not want cake, she had me make the fruit pizza instead. It is so easy to make. Overall I think we had a nice day, the boys also played soccer. I really need to get the boys in sports, as they are showing some talent in baseball as well.

Tagged

10 Years ago to this date I was 21 days from having Garrett. So yes, I was fat and sassy. We lived in Eden at the time and I was totally nesting. Rich worked for the Jerome County Sheriff's Office and Jessica was only 4.

5 Things I have done today:
1. Killed a mouse with a broom
2. Sat at the Autoshop getting my car fixed for two hours
3. Made dinner for a sick neighbor
4. Chatted with my hubby on the computer
5. Volunteered in Gavin's Kindergarten class
6. (must add this) went to the store and bought mouse traps and came home and set them

What I would do if I became a Millionare
I would buy a fabulous house with a swimming pool, travel to Italy, go visit my sister in the Phillipines, help out a few family members, buy me a BMW or Jaguar-hey both!, buy Rich a boat, travel more, hire a maid, a chef, and get a spa treatment every other day.

5 Jobs I've had
1. Dairy Queen
2. Shriners Hospital
3. Drug and Alcohol tester (aka pee queen)
4. MVRMC
5. Waitress @ Mandarin House, Wok n Grill, Manhattan Cafe, McClanahan's

Gavin lost his first tooth!

What a fun evening we had last night with Gavin's loose tooth. First, I tied a piece of dental floss around it and yanked, but it didn't come out. I made it bleed. If you know Gavin, he freaked. He really doesn't like to see blood. So, I told him that he could work on it and pull it out on his own, He used about half a roll of tissue during the process. Finally he twisted it just right ans , POP! it came out. He was thrilled. Of course the tooth fairy was very generous with a $5 bill. He looked into the mirror and said " Mom , I don't have a window anymore, I have a DOOR!" ( he had to have the top tooth pulled last summer) Oh, and note his cute little black eye on he right. That was compliments of Garrett and a marble! But, Gavin totally defends his brother and says it was an accident. We made a video of the event and Garrett stayed by his side the entire time. Sweet, I know! Those boys tickle me how they love and support each other all the time, I hope it never changes.

Williamsburg, Virginia

So, we had a wonderful weekend and have found a great place to take Rich when he comes home. We went to a hotel called Greatwolf lodge that has a gigantic indoor waterpark. It was a spouses retreat for our Brigade. The all expense paid trip was thanks to Chaplain Miller. He really outdid himself. We had a fabulous 2 bedroom 2 bath hotel room, waterpark passes, 2 breakfast, lunch and a steak dinner included. If that wasn't enough, each wife recieved a $50 gift certificate that I used to get a pedicure at the spa!! One other great thing is that we went on a chartered bus. We played all day Saturday at the waterpark and then I took the boys to the arcade after our steak dinner. They had a lot of fun in there and each won stuffed wolves. I was really missing Rich for that part, arcades aren't really my thing. Of course, I would have loved going on the Tornado ride with Rich!! Jessica's friend Morgan likes those kinds of rides so she went with me. I am glad I went on it. It was worth the wait. Garrett got in line for the body surfing ride. I admit, I was nervous for him but he did pretty good on it, his only complaint....it almost ripped his shorts off! There was so much to do there. We weren't ready to go but will definitely have to go back but have Rich take us. I love living here. There is so much to do! We are so lucky to have such a great support group and they really take good care of us while our hubbies are gone. Note: Jessica got glasses! Yeah, no more headaches!

Grandma's Visit

It was great to have Grandma Carleen come to visit us in January. We had a wonderful time with her. We went to Carolina Beach and to the Fort Fisher Aquarium. Jessica and Grandma worked on crochetting. We made yummy carmel corn and went shopping in Fayetteville one Saturday. Of course we stopped at Olive Garden for lunch. Mostly relaxed at home and took Grandma to the commissary, PX, and around Fort Bragg post, and Pope Airforce base. Hope that she can come back and bring Grandpa too.
